Guided Adventure in the Verdon Gorge

Via Cordata.

Open to everyone, these high level scrambles are a spectacular way for non climbers to discover the magnificent Verdon Gorge, far from the classic viewpoints.
Equipped and secured with ropes, harnesses and safety equipment, we explore a remote and inaccessible world of suspended gardens on the cliff face perched vertiginously high above the Canyon floor.
Although no technical climbing experience is necessary you will need to have a good head for heights and physical endurance for what can be a long and adventurous day out.

The following exciting itineraries are open to groups of up to 4 people. 1:4 Guide:Client ratio.

Couloir Samson Via Cordata:
An atmospheric traverse of the great cliffs on the south rim of the Gorge involving tyrolean traverses across the Verdon river, ladders, steep scrambling protected by rope handrails, and a 100m vertical descent by abseil high above the river.
Fantastic views and photo opportunities guaranteed!

200m cliff descent and exit by the Baume aux Pigeons and tunnels:
Only the indigenous giant vultures see the big cliffs of the Verdon from this perspective... Spinning in space, a mindblowing 200m freehanging descent by static cable leads to a suspended garden.
From here, exposed walking and abseils take us down to the river and the enormous cave of the "Baume aux Pigeons".
Though less physically demanding than the "Couloir Samson Via Cordata", this adrenaline inducing itinerary requires an excellent head for heights.
Don't forget your video camera!

Traverse of "Les Cataractes" and exit by the tunnels at Couloir Samson:
We traverse a lost world of suspended forests in the middle of the 400m high "Escales" cliff on the north rim of the Verdon Gorge.
Eventually descending to river level we exit the canyon at Couloir Samson via the long tunnels. Vertiginous.

Main Morte Via Cordata:
By means of several long abseils we descend a dry Canyon into the heart of the Gorge, later re-climbing to the rim via a long and steep Via Cordata.
A strenuous itinerary requiring good physical fitness.

Le Trou du Renard:
A gentle introduction to the vertical world of the Verdon. Great fun for kids!

Guided Walks:

L'Imbut:
A vertiginous 4 – 5 hour circuit deep in the south side of the Canyon.
We follow the Verdon river as it winds its way through a chaos of boulders, fast flowing rapids, whirlpools, caves, and forests of lush vegetation.
The circuit finishes with a steep 300m ascent following steps cut into the solid rock, and equipped with steel cables for safety.
