3 Strings Productions and National Geographic have just released a beautiful short film and article showcasing the beauty of climbing in the Verdon and describing its crucial influence in the development of world sport climbing. Working on this last May with Keith Ladszinski, Colette McInerney, Andrew Bisharat, and the North Face team was a rare privilege.

Here it is - Enjoy!

A great weekend’s cragging. Alan Carne sent Snapdragon 29 ( 7c + ) Boven first red point attempt in style! Reminding me to use technique over brawn, leading to my send of Lotters Desire (direct) 27 (7b+). Alan being my good luck charm, as he belayed me on my send of Lotters and Snapdragon and I belayed him on his send...good times.

Can't believe its taken me until now to finally get here. The perfect escape from the summer heat of the Verdon. A sport climbing paradise of perfect ‘bullet’ quartzite. In July it’s the dry season in this part of Africa with dreamy winter conditions, blue skies and instead of 40c back home, a perfect 21c!

'Waterval Boven' near to Johannesburg has over 700 well bolted routes to go at and is only a couple of hours drive from the world famous Kruger National Park – great for rest days.

Don’t hesitate to contact me for specific beta.

I always enjoy showing visitors around my playground and my good friend Said Belhaj from Sweden is a paying his yearly visit. Here he is preparing this afternoon for a typically swift and efficient 1st redpoint send of the iconic and instantly recognisable 'Tom et Je Ris' 8b+ here in the Verdon Gorge.

Bravo Said, I didn't expect anything less from you!
